l'Oréal

"Thanks to Bioclimas' adiabatic technology, our buildings are now
energy-efficient and environmentally friendly."

Usine l'Oréal Libramont

L'Oréal, choosing CO₂ reduction for over 20 years

Located in Libramont-Chevigny since 1975, the L'Oréal plant produces hair care products in the province of Luxembourg, for the L'Oréal Professionnel, Kérastase, Redken and Matrix brands. 15 years after its debut, and in order to reduce its CO2 consumption, the plant decides to install around 10 Breezair on the factory roofs. ‍

The solution that changed everything...

In 2008, the company called on Bioclimas to carry out maintenance on its machines, but also to raise their concerns about cooling adiabatic and, more specifically, the proliferation of Legionella, a bacterium that can cause a potentially fatal lung infection. Bioclimas felt that their concerns were entirely legitimate, and went to great lengths to reassure them by providing the company with health and safety certification for Seeley International products, in order to clear up any misinformation about cooling adiabatic.

Convinced by the solution, the facility manager decided to replace the expensive and inefficient machines they had been renting for many years with Bioclimas products. However, the economic crisis of that year prevented them from investing in such a large number of machines over a short period of time.

Never one to give up when it comes to customer satisfaction, Bioclimas has found THE solution: leasing to spread out payments.

Bioclimas is proud to have achieved its carbon neutrality objective

A year later, the plant became the first in the Group to achieve carbon neutrality, a goal partly achieved by installing Breezair systems throughout the plant.

In 2019, l'Oréal reached a new milestone by becoming a "waterloop" factory, i.e. by reusing its wastewater. Since then, the plant has become an example of environmental respect for the rest of the group.

Today, the plant continues to run at full capacity with the efficiency of the Breezair units installed and maintained by Bioclimas. This solution from cooling has enabled them to become carbon neutral and set an example for many other plants.

The choice of cooling adiabatic is ideal for premises such as those of L'Oréal Libramont, with their large volumes and unavoidable heat generation. The Breezair units located on the roof of the building provide sustained air renewal and rapid cooling, all without the risk of altering the production process for the various cosmetics products. This is why L'Oréal was convinced by our solutions and decided to place its trust in us for its plant.

In short, L'Oréal is :

Around 50 machines running all year round

  • Machines 15 to 20 years old, never replaced

  • One more step towards carbon neutrality in buildings
